Choosing Dog Caregivers

What you want from a facility is the most important part of choosing the right caregivers. Questions you should ask and consider:

1.  Is someone there 24 hours per day,  7 days per week?
We are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including Holidays

2. Does the staff actually sleep in the same building within eye and ear shot of your baby?
     We do!

3. Are there extra charges for medication, playtime, etc.?
Our overnight charge is the total charge. We would never charge extra for medication or playtimes!

4. Do they charge for daycare the day after your baby spends the night?
No extra charge at Hotel Poochie

5. If for some reason your pet becomes ill and needs to see a doctor, do they take your pet to your
personal veterinarian and wait there with them? If so, what is the fee?
Hotel Poochie would NEVER charge for Compassionate Transportation to YOUR PERSONAL
     Vet
AND we will wait with them so they won't be so frightened.

6. If there is a thunderstorm, what is the policy to calm the babies?  What is the emergency policy for
     tornado warnings?
At Hotel Poochie, we are here to console and comfort your baby all day and all night! If there is a
tornado warning day or night, we gather all the kids and go to both huge interior bathrooms, sing
songs and keep parents posted via our Facebook page as to what is going on.

7. Does your facility have a valid license to do business?
We have a Shelby County Business License. We have a Bartlett Business License.  We have a
Tennessee Business License as well as all the required Tax Licenses.

8. Do they have Veterinarian references?
We encourage you to call Dr. Richard Leggett's office to get a personal reference for us.

9. Are they affiliated with any professional Kennel or pet care associations?
We are members of Pet Care Services Association. We exceed ALL of their standards.

10. Do they REALLY separate dogs by size and temperment? Ask them to cleary explain how it is
      done Day and Night.
We do not take dogs over about 20lbs, PERIOD.

11. Do they encourage you to bring you own dog food? Some facilities do not want the hassle
of keeping up with each dog's food and feeding them individually.
We absolutely encourage you to do so. All babies need their regular food to keep their delicate
systems normal. All of our guests eat privately and eat their own food
.

12. MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: Does the facility look and smell clean?
       Is it a  professional  facility
 dedicated only
to the care of pets?

If you haven't already visited us, call and set a time to stop by. Look at us, meet us, and sniff. We know you'll like what you see!
